After spending lots of time playing those Facebook Playfish games, I decided I should pick up a hobby to keep me busy. I mean, I can only wait tables & fix toilets... plow fields & feed chickens... visit friends' pets & dress them up... for so many hours in a day.
So we went to Michael's off Rosecrans to pick up some beginner crochet books.
They had a starter kit for $15, so I got that. And the smallest ball (and cheapest) of yarn.
Then there was a mini book on amigurumi.
Basically crocheted animal plushies.
I guess the designs are from Japan (that's why they're cutesy), and I'm sure I could find patterns for them online... but I got the book for $5 too.
Hopefully I'm not too clumsy that I can't crochet.
I mean, Erikku was able to crochet. I don't see why I can't. I got a higher AP English score than he did (= has nothing to do w/ it, but I still like to rub it in 15 years after the fact).
If I'm able to make cutesy crocheted animals, that's what all of my friends & family will be getting for next year's holiday gift. You've been warned.
PS. We got holiday decorations too.
We'll hang tree ornaments on our window facing the courtyard, since we don't have a tree.
