Foot Massage

Tonight, I went to get a foot massage.

I didn't think I was that tired (despite the lack of energy for the last 2 weeks), but it felt sooooo good to get a massage.

We went to the foot massage place near Hong Kong deli.
Instead of a simple neck & shoulder massage, they gave us a whole body massage. My lower back was in a lot of pain, so it was very good.

I got a massage from a male staff, while じゅるる got a massage from a female staff. Poor lady... cuz じゅるる has really stiff shoulders. We should suggest a male staff work on じゅるる from now on.

Had konjac drink two nights in a row.
Went for the standard aloe & konjac drink this time.

Coco Taping

Tails was in town, and she got tickets to go see the Tonight Show.
I had forgotten that I agreed to tag along... tee hee.

We got to Universal City at 2:30pm.
They let the group in around 4:00pm.
The taping started at 5:00pm.

We thought there would be a lot more waiting time, but it went relatively quick.

NBC even had a tub full of water, so people would stay hydrated. I took sugar-free Gatorade, couldn't finish half... tossed out the contents, but the security staff threw away the empty bottle I had kept (I wanted to recycle & claim my 5 cents!).

The show itself... was a bit boring.
Not a whole lot of skits. Boo!

They only had three t-shirt designs, so I didn't get any. Plus they were $25 each. I'm not that big of a fan...

Maybe I'll go to another taping in October when じゅるる's in Burbank for work.

J Niece Bday Party

So じゅるる's nieces and nephews are all born on consecutive months. Which means lots of gift preparations from August thru October. Gah!

Anyhoo, the family decided to have a birthday party for one of the kids b/c it's next week.

Our gift?
Professor Layton.

We're the bad aunt & uncle who gives video game & comics as gifts. Heh heh.

A Day at Mouseland

We had a "reception" of sorts at Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland Hotel. It was family only, so じゅるる had 9 participating, and I had 4.

じゅるる's nephew has food allergies, and the restaurant made special meals for him. The chef came up to our table, gave us a list of what they could make & prepared it for him. What lovely service!

We were able to order a cake w/o nuts & eggs. Altho the cake was awfully sweet... and frilly -___-

After brunch, we all headed our separate ways. Some to the main Disney park, some went to California Adventure, and some went home.

We went to Calif Adventure... but went unprepared to go to an amusement park. We forgot towels (for wiping our sweat), blankets (for when it gets cold & sitting to reserve parade space), sunblock lotion (borrowed Sat's), hats & sunglasses...

And we walked 17,000 steps. Highest ever!

Jam Session at the W's

We went over to the W household, so じゅるる could join W♂ for a jam session.

We stopped by Trader Joe's to pick up champagne grapes (they looked yummy), cheese (cuz the W's love cheese) and bubbly juice. I thought about getting blueberries for Sasami, but we ended up getting blueberry bubbly juice instead.

So while the boys played, the girls prepped snackies.
Sasami sis has been trying to snack healthy, so there were lots of veggies and fruits. I don't eat fresh fruit, even if it's on cake (esp strawberries). But the apples were really good. Oh, we did eat a lot of cheese, though... not healthy at all.

じゅるる got a teeny blister on his middle finger, but he seemed really happy to play. I guess we'll be going to the W's whenever they're willing to have us over.

I should plan for Marukai shopping on those days.

Slowly Building Our Adobe

We finally got to building our bedroom vanity/desk yesterday.

It just had a ton of parts that needed to be assembled... and we built it all the way through, and realized one of the drawer rails were in backwards. Doh! But my handy electric screwdriver saved the day.

It's a real cute laptop desk from IKEA.
But it's narrow (= not deep), so it works as a vanity. We were so happy when we found it after hours of walking through the showrooms & thinking we'd had to settle for a bigger, more expensive vanity.

It currently houses the alarm clock, spare phone and all our medicine bottles. You know, cuz we're old & broken...

Anyhoo, we were supposed to spend today working on the rest of the house.

Things on our list:
1. Install curtain rods in bedroom
2. Install towel rack in kitchen
3. Install key holder magnet rail near entrance
4. Stabilize linen closet (= bookshelf)
5. Stabilize china cabinet (= bookshelf)

But I slept all day long!
So we were able to get #2 done. -__-

But it's a mighty fine looking towel rack.

Curtain rods tomorrow!
Oh, but we're going to Sasami's sis's house tomorrow for a jam session. Sasami's brother-in-law invited じゅるる, so I'm tagging along. I hope Sasami shows up too.
