Puppy Chews Hair

I went out to eat pho w/ Dee again.
And stopped by their house to see their puppy again.

L doesn't have a tail, so she wiggles her round butt.
So cute!

She also likes to be held, which is rather unusual for a dog?
But then again, those toy dogs are always being carried. L isn't a small dog, though... Anyway, I put her on my lap this time. So cuddly. And it's kinda fun to be able to play a little rough w/ dogs. Cats don't tolerate rough play that much.

And once L was on my lap, she started to chew on my hair.
Nooo... I don't have a lot of hair...

Koge likes to chew on hair too. Although she only likes it right out of the shower. She either likes hair moist, or likes the smell of shampoo.

PS. We bought lots of snacks at a Korean supermarket.
I'm going to try these new cookies (a guy at the store told me it was good) & Dee is going to try fried chicken snacks. The chicken art on the box was cute, so I made him buy both flavors. Regular and spicy. I should have bought my own boxes too... but じゅるる doesn't care for spicy snacks. Boo!

Singing おじさん’s

じゅるる, じゅるるparents & I went to El Camino College to see a concert by the Japanese LA men's glee club.

There was one soloist who was very 萌え.
He's pretty tall & thin, peppered hair and wears glasses.
Sat would have liked him too.

Busy Errand Day

Today we headed off to car city Cerritos to getじゅるる's oil changed.

We thought it would be a 1-hour thing... but we ended up staying for 4 hours because they said he should get his break pads changed, which was only supposed to take another hour, but somehow they forgot to tell the mechanics or someone went on a lunch break & didn't get to work on the car...

Good thing we came prepared this time!
(See, they did the same thing to us last time... but it was an oil change that turned into a 30,000 mile service pack thingie or something)

We brought breakfast (bread & onigiri), our DS, and じゅるる brought a book by Valerie Berntinelli. I played Rhythm Tengoku Gold for a while, but got bored & read the book. So poor じゅるるhad nothing to do.

After we got out, we went to eat at Fuddruckers. I haven't been to one in a long time... last time was in Baltimore 6-7 years ago. And before that? Many many years ago during BT days...

Then we went to Bed Bath & Beyond to look for my laptop desk (they didn't have the one I was looking for) and Big 5 to look for じゅるる's walking shoes (he wants slip-on types since he's walking to Subway everyday for lunch as his daily exercise). We both left empty handed, though.

On the way home, we stopped by Marukai to buy snacks for the week. My snack basket is getting empty.

Then I needed to head back cuz I needed to poop really bad.
I did give じゅるる a 30 min heads up, and it was more or less on schedule. But because of the toilet issue, we couldn't buy the サバcan & tofu I wanted for lunch this week.

After poop & a bit of a nap, we headed out to DSW to look for shoes (still came back empty), went to Pacific Marukai to get the サバcan, tofu & other things for dinner. Then Ralphs to get veggies for my veggie soup this week (lunch).

We did so many errands... but couldn't get to laundry.
Tomorrow it is.

Ramen at Asa

じゅるる & I went to eat ramen at Asa.
It's in the same plaza as Sanuki no Sato & Union Bank.

On the far left corner is Asa, the おねーちゃん cafe.
And right next to it is another store called Asa, but it's a ramen shop.

Prince K & K-san wanted to peek in, b/c they were wondering if the waitresses were like the girls in the おねーちゃん cafe.

Nope, they were regular waitresses.

For ramen, they just have shoyu & shio.
And you can get it regular or kotteri (w/ lard pieces floating in the soup). The kotteri soup was yummers, but highly fattening.

They also serve lots of different types of takoyaki.
Although I can just eat takoyaki at home... if Sat makes it.

Bee Problems

I keep finding dead or semi-dead bees in my bath tub.
And I see bees flying right outside my shower window (vent?)

So I figured I had a bee hive right outside my bathroom window... and Ichigo emailed saying she knocked down three mini hives at night when she came by to feed Koge.

Ichigo made me look outside today & there's a pretty large colony living outside. *shiver*

Time to call the exterminators.
Or if the bees are honey bees, maybe I can call those people who relocate bees to homes that welcome them. (I heard about them on NPR)

PS. I flushed down three bees who were hanging out by my bathroom sink today. Koge's been attacking them, I guess... since I find knocked over bottles & things around my sink. I wish she would clean up after herself.

Bumped into Mashi

I thought I saw a glimpse of Mashi yesterday, and today I bumped into him. Okay, he overheard me talking to Vince about TCs & came up to me.

Apparently he quit his day job as a lawyer, moved back up north & owns a card shop w/ a partner.

So I promised I'll swing by the store when I go up north for F-con.
They're moving the shop soon, close to Steph's parents' home.

BTW, he said he's on Facebook, so I guess we can all search for him.

No Show at Steph's Bday Party

Steph sent out a mass text message about her bday celebration yesterday.
Later in the day, she sent out an Evite.

I was gonna go w/ じゅるる, but I fell asleep (my usual nap time) & woke up at 7pm. Darn, missed the drunken-ness...

Happy 3Xth bday Stephie.

Freebies: Zyrtec

I haven't been on the Walmart freebie page in a while, so I went to check it out.

And they have Zyrtec samples!
Highly recommended for those with allergies.
It only worked 50% on Kurosaki for me, though.

Go get.

Oh, I also requested Rachael Ray's dog food sample.
Not that Koge is a dog, but she eats dog food. And human food.

S Family Puppy

Today, Sat & I headed to K-town to eat soon tofu.
We were planning on eating pho w/ Dee, but he bailed out on us. Pho will have to be another day.

We went to a K-town mall first to take a look at those pressure-point hula hoops. I realized I haven't done real hula hooping in... 20+ years? Cuz WiiFit doesn't really count. And I can't hula hoop... very sad. I'm sure it's a little bit better w/ a real hula hoop, since the pressure-point ones are heavy (3 lbs).

At the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised with a new soon tofu flavor: squid.

It contains squid strips & beef, which is perfect b/c I never liked the clams and shrimp inside the seafood soon tofu. This will be my regular now.

After dinner, we called up Dee to see if we can drop by their house to see their new puppy. So they brought out a fluffy ball of energy out on a leash.

The puppy was so excited... she peed all over the porch.
She almost got my shoes, but good thing she missed.

The puppy ran around in circles for 5 minutes, then she finally settled down and started eating dry leaves. Apparently she eats anything from bugs to squirrel poo. Just like Koge! Aww, aren't pets adorable?

Vu's Diagnosis of Vaio

Vu came by today to look at my dying Vaio.
The one that's chugging along, making loud fan noises, and occasionally (almost always) running slow.

After trying a few things, he decided that it's time for a new computer.

I want a small, lightweight computer... but he's against me getting a mini, cuz they're not powerful enough (and the keyboards are too small). He said I should get a 13" Dell like Sat's.

So we'll have matching digital cameras and laptops.
It's like how we were dressed alike when we were small...

When he finds a deal, I'll order it.
Like I have that kind of money!! *sob*

PS. Bert's wife had their baby on Thurs/Fri (Vu's not sure).
I hope Vu doesn't bring back photos... cuz I find the limbs of newborns creepy (they're bent funny, aren't they?)

Back from Mini Trip

We're back in LA.

Went to the Sea Center today.
It's tiny & full of kids & costs $8 an adult. Pretty expensive, but I'd like to think it's for environmental research to off-set the number of plastic bags we got at supermarkets b/c I didn't carry around reusable bags when I go on trips. I'll have to get those bags that can become tiny. But I do like my Frankenstein bags from Toys R Us.

There was a very active octopus at the Sea Center.

He looked delicious.

Ate at a hot dog place called Lettuce B Frank. Tee hee!
No, they didn't have protein-style hot dogs.

Also stopped by a coffee shop called Coffee Cat.
Cutest logo ever!
I got a tumbler. So happy!

In Santa Barbara

I'm on a mini vacation in Santa Barbara.

Went to the mission today.

(bald head of the statue in front ^__^)
More photos on my Flickr account.

Walked around a bit & had dinner.

My lower back hurts from walking around all day.
Is there a way to make yourself walk every day?
Get rid of the car?

Maybe I should go to Ralphs every day to buy groceries.
Not Trader Joe's, because it's up hill getting there.
