Dave's Birthday Dim Sum

We celebrated Dave's 31st birthday in MPK today.

14 people showed up!
Dave said it's because people like him. Sat said it's because everyone doesn't have a lot to do in mid-October.

We went to Capital Seafood on Garvey & Atlantic. The Yama fama likes this place b/c it's never crowded, food is pretty cheap & the food items are pretty consistent in flavor. Not great, but not terrible. Their menu is kinda sporadic too... we didn't see any rice dishes (sticky rice fried rice, or the steamed sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves) that we would usually get.

Since Allen was picking up Steph and Panda showed up first, we nominated Panda to be our official ordering person. Dennis wanted Chinese broccoli, so Panda ordered... and we got sauteed broccoli in garlic sauce.

That's not Chinese broccoli... says angry Steebu.

Panda "That's what Chinese broccoli is!"
Everyone "No, that's broccoli!"
Steph "Panda, they mean mustard greens."
Shiz "The plant w/ yellow flowers?"
Panda "Oooh! (something in Chinese)!"

So other things on menu were:
CHINESE chicken feet
CHINESE pork spare ribs
CHINESE hao gao...

Panda did redeem herself and re-ordered the real Chinese broccoli.

Dennis looks happy now.

31 photos are up on Flickr (need to be a "friend" to see them all).

For the record, the the non-Chinese broccoli was pretty good.
